Latinia State of Emergency Threatens Oil Deals

Esmeraldas Energy, Hickory Reources and the LatinoAmericano Development Bank reached an agreement with the government of Latinia on the development of oil resources in the country pending stability.

Latinia, however, has just declared a state of emergency. Vice President Robles resigned.

Hickory Resources recently brokered a deal with the government while at the same time agreeing to work with Esmeraldas Energy on a joint venture in Vietnam.

Local human rights groups have also approached the Patriot claiming that Hickory Resources are responsible for the recent murders in Tupiza in an attempt to frame Esmeralda Energy. Hickory Resources deny the claim and reiterated their public position of cooperation with Esmeraldas.

No one in the Esmeraldas Company reported having any information or receiving any briefs on the murders.
